Senate File 94, Act Regarding Compelled Speech and State Employers, would prohibit the state and its political subdivisions from requiring the use of terms like gender pronouns as a condition of employment, contracting, licensing or getting grants. It also extends to all county governments and public schools in Wyoming.

The ACLU of Wyoming opposes Senate File 94. Using someone’s correct pronouns is a simple sign of respect. Being courteous and kind shouldn’t be politicized like this.

Senate File 94 would apply to state and county governments, along with employees of school districts and community colleges, as these entities are also considered political subdivisions in Wyoming.
