Defend free speech and protest in Wyoming by becoming an official ACLU Legal Observer!
Join us at our legal observer training in Cheyenne, on April 30, 2019 at the Unitarian Universalist Church from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Legal observers are one of the most integral parts of the ACLU’s volunteer team. These formally trained persons act as witnesses to political demonstrations and document the events of public protests, including any incidents of police misconduct or violations of protestor rights.
As a legal observer, you will commit to being amongst other defenders of free speech, but aren’t expected to take part in the protest or rally. Legal observers pick which protests to observe with neutrality and can choose not to volunteer at protests in which they would prefer to actively participate.
